Bauhaus "In the Flat Field"

Bauhaus' album "In the Flat Field" has been selected as this week's review of the week. The album, known for its dark and moody sound, features a lot of screaming and wailing that might not be everyone's cup of tea. The reviewer, however, is on the fence about whether the album is truly good or just okay.

One thing that stands out for the reviewer is the track "Telegram Sam," which is their favorite on the album. While not a new track, it's no surprise that it was a hit off this album. Unfortunately, the reviewer didn't find any hidden gems on the record.

Despite this, it's easy to see that "In the Flat Field" marks the beginning of gothic rock's origins, a genre that Bauhaus helped pioneer. The English rock band, which formed in Northampton in 1978, mixed several genres, including dub, glam rock, psychedelia, and funk. The group consists of Daniel Ash on guitar and saxophone, Peter Murphy on vocals and occasional instruments, Kevin Haskins on drums, and David J on bass.

Overall, "In the Flat Field" might not be for everyone, but it's a significant album in the history of gothic rock and worth checking out for fans of the genre.
